We are currently staying in a wonderful Mexican owned bungalow overlooking playa madera. I found it on airnbnb. The family took us to playa Blanca on my birthday, and can’t do enough for us. So not all airnbnbs are bad.

I don't recall saying any service was bad. Just risky for the lack of local knowledge. But there are a lot of things you are leaving out, such as the name of the place and the name of its owners. If it's a place I don't list but should, then let me know. There are very good reasons I don't list a lot of places that tourists think are just wonderful. It helps to have local insight and to know with whom you're doing business, if the owners are shady people or if you're at risk of being ripped off or tossed into the street with no warning because of non-compliance with local laws or if a local lodging has a bad history.

I mean hey, if Airbnb is so wonderful then perhaps I can finally close down this website and move on and leave you fine folks to fend for yourselves. Hallelujah! My job is done!

But I'm pretty sure this is still the only local website that verifies lodgings and services and looks out for things our visitors know little or nothing about in this lawless state where most folks are still afraid to speak the truth.
