That site uses the USGS. A foreign service making a "best guess" with the equipment at their disposal thousands of miles away. The Servicios Sismológico Nacional (SSN) is whose equipment is physically on the ground and located strategically throughout our state and others. Mexico has one of the best geological monitoring systems in the world.

In this case the USGS has the magnitude, depth and location all quite different from the SSN. My experience is that the SSN is much more accurate than the USGS for local quakes.
