Californian killed in Ixtapa

Well Dave, you may be a hermit with no one else's welfare or their concerns to deal with. In my case I have a wife and a number of friends who rely on me to make good decisions. As to my community. 3 months ago we did have a domestic dispute resulting in a murder suicide. We also had a murder 3 years ago, but no local politicians assassinated (ever) no beheadings, no police officers gunned down in broad daylight, no discos burned to the ground after a shootout and none of our police have been rounded up in mass and sent off the prison. And now that I think about it, we've had no roads blocked by protesters and all our school teachers show up for work. And I'm pretty sure that the only ones shaking down the local businesses would be the government since years ago when they got rid of most of the (mafia) competition.

Now drugs would be a whole other discussion. But we were not talking about drugs, we were talking about a tourist getting gunned down in a popular tourist destination that seems to be lacking basic law and order.

My point is not to be critical. But rational.

Can this be justified....No

A time to be aware...Yes

Someone getting killed at 4am a deal breaker for me....No

In what seems like an ever increasing dangerous world DILIGENCE is required. BTW many people depend on me as well. Also I live in Podunk no where and I am even smart enough not to venture out at 4am in a public setting where there are drunk or high people.
