End of Zih Xmas Vacation

Today is the last day of Christmas vacation, and tomorrow millions of students across Mexico head back to school. We have family members leaving today and tomorrow, like many of our friends and neighbors, and somehow we've managed to juggle keeping our guests fed and entertained while somehow looking after our businesses.

For me and millions of other small business owners that's also meant learning the new format for emitting facturas so we can get paid. Took me the best part of four days, but I may be brain damaged. I've heard of complaints from other folks, and frankly I can't even imagine what businesses that sell thousands of products must be going through. I suspect a lot of folks will simply stop using facturas because they've become so burdensome and difficult. Perhaps if our so-called public servants weren't so frivolous and careless with our money it would inspire more folks to pay taxes.

We haven't had any city water since before Christmas. I guess the water was needed to fill all those swimming pools for all the tourists. Hopefully now that several thousand folks are going home we'll soon get our city water again. I've been getting too much sun standing on our rooftop filling our tinacos four or so times a week!

My wife Lupita wants all the ladies to know that she is stocked up with lots of new clothing from Chiapas and Oaxaca for sale, so please come on by while the pickin's are good!
