Calm Before the Zih (and BIG THANKS)

Weekends always seem to fly by, and after Lupita helped organize the 80th anniversary of the ejidatarios of Zihuatanejo last week we were both looking forward to a little R&R this weekend, but Friday and Saturday saw her at the funeral home after the deaths of the mothers of two different friends, and Sundays we usually spend doing upkeep on our home in Ixtapa where we also visit the gravesite of our beloved Lola who died last November.

We did get to enjoy a delicious dinner at La Porteña on Saturday evening as well as a belly-busting lunch at Deborah's on Sunday afternoon (I tried saving room for some Key Lime Pie but it didn't work out, maybe next time).

Somehow Lupita still managed to find time to match up several people with donated glasses as well as to buy and distribute school supplies thanks to a very generous donation by Las Vegas Bob.

Never a dull moment...

This is Message Board reader Eli with a couple of her friends who had been waiting a couple of weeks to meet up with Lupita for some glasses. A BIG THANK YOU to Eli for bringing her friends over and especially to all the generous people who have been dropping off donated glasses with Lupita!

These children were very grateful for the school supplies partially purchased thanks to Las Vegas Bob. A BIG THANK YOU TO BOB and to the folks who have dropped off school supplies with Lupita!

Monday mornings are always slow at the fishermen's market since few fishermen set out to fish on Sunday night.

Lots of pelicans in the bay lately. If you have a boat you already know this and curse them regularly for the presents they leave you. ;-)
