Help with Spanish

I am just curious, why is the event phrased "Mujeres Artistas" instead of "Artistas Mujeres?" Doesn't the noun usually come before the adjective in spanish?

Since both words "mujeres" and "artistas" are technically sustantivos, they could be interchangeable. They could also be Artistas Mujeres, which suggests they are part of a larger group of artists. But their gender is the unifier here being emphasized, so it gets first billing. It simply depends on what is being emphasized. Who? Women. What kind of women? Artists. Estas mujeres son artistas. Son mujeres artistas.
