While the city authorities presumably struggle to provide the services the city needs while full of vacationing tourists... oh wait... most of them are on vacation, too. Never mind.

At least the interim mayor Homero Rodriguez is making rounds personally to see what problems he encounters that he may be able to resolve. Since Homero is a real local, unlike the last guy, we can at least trust in his love for the community to take care of what he can. He's the kind of guy who still walks our local streets and is greeted warmly by friends and neighbors as one of us.

If you bought fish this morning or plan on having it for lunch or diner be aware that prices have shot up significantly, even more than they usually do during this period.

The waterfront restaurants downtown are doing a booming business and a damn fine job of taking care of all the tourists. We were impressed by what we saw everywhere and what we experienced at El Porteño and Café Marina, a couple of our favorite go-to places.

Just a friendly reminder to our local authorities that this gaping hole in the canal wall near the museum isn't going anywhere and the rainy season is right around the corner.

I've always loved watching our local fishing boats. Here's comes one with its overnight catch while others are being offloaded.
