Long Tall Drink of Zih

As hurricane season approaches little changes become noticeable. In the past week or so a slight mar de fondo effect has been noticeable along our coast, almost imperceptible to anyone not accustomed to the rhythm of our ocean. But it did wash over the small sandbar that had formed at the mouth of La Boquita canal and filled part of the canal with water, making repairs to the canal more difficult. The waves also caught 3 women by surprise the day before yesterday while they were swimming at Playa Principal in front of the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande, whose director, Lic. Omar Galeana, ripped off his shirt Superman style and ran out into the water to successfully rescue the 3 women. The women were fine but exhausted and of course emotionally distraught with the experience. Apparently they had lost their footing and strayed into deeper water and did not know how to swim. Kudos to Lic. Omar, another unsung hero of our community.

¡Ya llegó el pescado!
