A Heart Full of Zih

While short-sighted racist politicians continue the shameful decline of the reputation of the USA in the eyes of the world, passions in Mexico over the upcoming elections present different challenges. The peso has lost some value recently due to the polls that show the populist candidate in the lead. This presents opportunities for foreigners whose currencies now have greater purchasing power while the peso flirts with the 20:1 dollar mark. The peso is predicted to continue falling in value as long as the populist candidate remains favored in the polls and as we draw nearer to the July 1st elections, but it won't take long for businesses who cater to tourists to adjust their prices accordingly, especially those that charge in US dollars. So if you're considering making reservations for the next season, now would be a good time to pay for your reservations before local lodgings raise their rates. ;-)

As rainy season nears and sporadic rains dampen parts of Guerrero, the general smokiness is beginning to dissipate. Today we awoke to relatively clear skies and cooler temps than the past few days. The water along the coast is slowly warming and the tropical convergence zone is drawing a line that the northern weather fronts will no longer pass. Next Tuesday is the official beginning of the hurricane season in our part of the world. So hold on to your hats boys 'n' girls and enjoy the ride! B-)
