Apparently everyone is still worn out from celebrating Día de las Madres on the 10th because this is one of the quietest Saturdays we've had in a long time. No usual crowds of morning arrivals hauling their roll-along luggage from the bus stop to the hotel. No parade of families with their flotation toys all blown up and coolers loaded walking the streets towards the beach. The calm before the storm.

When we were celebrating Día de las Madres at Deborah's Restaurant in Ixtapa I was frankly shocked that there were so few people out and about in Ixtapa. Usually all the restaurants are full, especially such a nice convenient place as Deborah's, but there were only about 5 or 6 tables during the time of our traditional comida. In contrast Zihuatanejo was quite busy most of the day and well into the night.

Thank you to the generous people who make it possible for my wife to match up needy people with the glasses they need! Especially the graduated glasses are making life better for many people.

This was an interesting sight at the crack of dawn this morning. Unlike where most of you all live, contrails are still not a common sight here.
