Archives and Anchors

Interesting. Anyone know if it was ever authenticated? If it is genuine, what could the thinking have been in removing it from the general public's view and consigning it to the deep? Would it be better preserved in sea water or salt air? Or did anyone care?

It is a genuine extremely old anchor from the time period of the naval battle described, so there just aren't many alternative explanations for whose anchor it is or where it came from. It was replaced in the water because it was deteriorating quickly in the corrosive air. If you or someone you know has the resources to remove, restore and preserve it then adelante. Because locals don't, and it simply would've turned to dust if it had remained on the beach at Oliverio's place. Unlike the sunken Jesus statue, at least it is a more authentic artifact worth going in the water at Las Gatas to see.

Life is ALWAYS more interesting than movies!
