Is it too soon to apartment shop?

Here are some actual numbers for you. We own an apartment in the Bomberos neighborhood. It's about 500 sq. ft. with high ceilings on the 3rd floor so we get the heat from the roof. We do not have ocean breezes! We put in a 1.5 ton split for the living area which we turn on around 1:00-2:00pm and off around midnight (at the lowest settings of 28-29). We also have a small AC unit in the bedroom often used for a couple of hours in the afternoon plus overnight (setting of 23-24). Our monthly electric bills range between 1000 and 1500 pesos. It's quite a bit but necessary.

Here are some other numbers. I knew to only rent with a breeze running through my one bedroom apt. In the winter my electric bill is around 250 pesos for two months and I do not need nor use the AC. In the summer I use from 5 PM to sunset (full sun) and my bill runs about 550 pesos for two months. It is all about the breeze. It does not have to be an ocean breeze, just flow from front to back and good ceiling fans. B-)
