All Night Soaker

Ahhhhh. We finally got the first all night soaker in 8 months that washed at least some of the accumulated ucky stuff away. It also sent some of the raucous drinkers from the loud all-night open-air bars home earlier.

Unfortunately there's a new discoteque right on the waterfront of the Paseo del Pescador next to Elvira's Restaurant in what used to be the remaining half of a quaint old original waterfront home. The THUMP-diddy-THUMP of their sub-woofers emptied out Elvira's, who closed and locked up early, and it didn't help draw customers to any other nearby restaurants. It ruined the ambience pretty much from Porto di Mare all the way to the Angustina, which already has a bar next to them that now turns up their music even louder than before. So expect to be disappointed the next time you walk along that part of the waterfront. We certainly were, and that's why we're hoping the current mayor loses his reelection bid. Major bummer!

Folks have been working since last night setting up for the big political rally this evening at the Cancha Municipal where Andrés Manuel López Obrador will be speaking from around 6 to 8PM. Looks like it's going to be a major wingding. We've been offered some secret VIP seats. Everyone's expecting a big crowd. ;-)

I wonder if it will rain? :-o

Looks like rain.

Sucks to here about the bar/disco on the Paseo del Pescador.

So how safe is this political event? What are the odds that the guns will come out?
