Zih Magic Moments

With the Copa Mundial taking place in the mornings it's throwing the usual festivity a-kilter since it's just too early to be swilling cerveza and getting rowdy. Folks are sitting around having coffee and pan dulce with breakfast trying to croak out ¡GOOOOL! when a team they support scores. But it makes for a humorous backdrop to our colorful, tropical and tranquil mornings. Joe's got the matches on each morning at the Café Marina if you'd like to come join in the emotion. There's nothing like the unifying feeling of the World Cup.

This is probably the largest Ceiba tree left in Zihuatanejo. Too many others have been cut down to make way for buildings of dubious necessity. This photo doesn't do the tree justice, but there is no angle where it's possible to encompass the entire tree in a photo except perhaps with a fisheye lens. Anyone able to pinpoint this location? ;-)

This morning during our walk there was this instant of incredible color right before the sun rose. I raced down to the beach to try to capture what I saw. I actually toned down the color in this photo but it still looks surreal.
