Ha ha! You're right. Sorry to be so harsh. I apologize. I am passionate about this subject and damn ashamed of how the US government and too many people are behaving.

As kjgco explained in his reply to you, most of the people being referred to in your stats are part of the great backlog of folks already in the USA (still not yet counting the Dreamers, some of whom have unjustly been deported), so the real number of people being granted permission to remain in the USA under whatever status remains around 300,000 per year, not all of them naturalized citizens. The process remains broken, and the inhumanity by the current racist administration towards folks fleeing violence remains unacceptable if not unconscionable altogether.
