A Place to Zih

The heat of La Canícula appears to have arrived early this year. It's been DAMN HOT since last week, and the rains seem to keep missing us. Temperatures in the lower 40's have been forecast for parts of our region. While A/C may bring relief if you use it, it only makes the heat feel worse when you have to be out in it. Acclimation is better and good for your skin. Drink more water and less alcohol.

My wife and I can't praise the good folks at La Jaiba Feliz restaurant enough. We go there frequently, and last Thursday for pozole we were treated to a wonderful time with 3 generations of the family of owners, all born here and all good people.

¡Fuertes abrazos a Judit, Doña María y Dulce María!

Agua de coco is a delicious way to keep hydrated. Good and good for you!

Nothing like a delicious raspado to beat the heat. Here comes the vendedora now!
