Zih Marks the Spot

The rain keeps teasing like a high school date without actually giving up anything. A little sprinkle here, a little sprinkle there. Just enough to give the dust something to stick to. It's been cloudy for the best part of 2 days, and we've watched rains head one way and another, but downtown Zihuatanejo remains sala'o with neither rains nor city water. But hey, we got a couple of new garbage trucks and 4 new police cars this week. Now if only we had a complete police force.

After a brief lull while everyone went home to collect their paychecks for the quincena, the tourists have returned, though they still don't appear to be buying anything except from the wandering vendors. Restaurants and shops are all complaining about the lack of sales.

Meanwhile this week the municipal government celebrated a massive lactation event at city hall. Stuff that makes you go :wtf:

This was a lovely sight during our morning stroll.

This scene shows a turtle nest in the foreground that's had its eggs removed by poachers, and a fisherman with a net on the beach being watched closely by pelicans and frigate birds.

This was a pretty scene from the pier last night.
