If it hadn't been for watching a terrific Formula 1 race from Monza, Italy yesterday morning it would've been easy to sleep late. Now that the rains have finally broken the canícula weather pattern our evenings are cooler for sleeping.

But since I was up for the race, once it was over I went up to our rooftop for a stretch and saw that our portulaca was still blooming, so I thought I'd snatch a shot.

Then after tending to a few chores it was off to Ixtapa for la comida with our daughter and grandson at our house in Retorno de las Garzas, one of the oldest sections of Ixtapa. I know of no other property in Ixtapa more "jungled" than our own, which also makes it hard to photograph since there aren't really any wide open spaces. But by combining about 5 photos I finally managed to capture an image of our 50' or so tall travellers palms, among the largest I've seen anywhere.

Last evening at the pier was magical as usual. Lots of folks were there enjoying it with us including a gringo from Houston named Al. Not many gringos around at this time of year. Al seemed like he was having a great time.
