The Long Slow Zih

Looks like it's going to be a lean celebration for Día de la Revolución and the Grito de la Independencia. Instead of all the streets being decorated as in years past the only decoration I've seen is one large escudo mexicano with the legend "Viva México" in lights at the zócalo, probably made in China. Still haven't heard if there will be any kind of parade. Don't really care for fireworks but there will probably be some. Lupita and I will be happy with a couple of shots of tequila. Times are tight for most of us working folks with families as septihanbre wears on. ¡VIVA!

We keep getting a few late afternoon and evening sprinkles, but just barely enough to keep the plants green. It's going to be a long dry season without running water if we don't get some more rain. We urgently need a building moratorium!

Thanks to everyone who brought donated glasses. Please keep them coming. Lupita says what you all call "cheaters" are the most useful since prescription glasses are often hard to match up with recipients, but of course they are all thankful for whatever they can get. These two ladies were very grateful.

Day after day of ideal weather. We must be in paradise, man! B-)
