The local water company workers union is on a full blown strike today because they haven't been paid and they accuse the director of looking out for family members and friends she put on the payroll (an unethical but totally common practice) while not paying the water company's bills or its rank and file workers. Others claim the money went to the unsuccessful campaign of the mayor in his bid for reelection. I suspect a bit of both. Like I warned previously, water will be scarce for a while so please be as economical with it as possible.

The best weather of the year is here but there aren't hardly any tourists. What's up with that? ;-)

This is a photo from back in March, thus the brown hillside.

Our poor gazebo is currently serving as a hotel de vagabundos. The folks who poach the sea turtle's eggs have taken it over during the evenings. But lots of folks in the community are working on remedying this so that kids can play there safely and so that the local Danzón dancers can again enjoy using it in the evenings.
