What a privilege to live in this wonderful place and be able to enjoy such seasonal treasures as the delicious tacha de calabaza and pan de muertos for breakfast along with our aromatic fresh locally grown coffee. The hillsides are covered with blooming bocotes, and our friend who works at the panteón has cleared the weeds from our family plot and gotten everything ready for us to visit with our beloved departed.

All around the mercado principal there are vendors selling flowers and adornments for the ofrendas people make in their homes to honor deceased loved ones. Tomorrow we remember family members who died before reaching adulthood, and the following day we pay tribute to the adults.

These folks are going to be fighting ants and bees until they sell their calaveritas de azúcar.
