Zih Time!

It's good to see visitors returning. Charter captains on the pier have been getting busier. Shopkeepers around town are seeing more folks. Not a lot of sales yet, but the transition is certainly underway and it's a time of hope and promise as locals anticipate the busy tourist season ahead.

One thing we've noticed is a lot of the fishing boats and pangas are sporting new coats of paint. Same with a lot of shops and restaurants. Those who can are sprucing up for the season, an annual occurrence that is always a joy to see.

There were a LOT of huachinangos being sold at the fishermen's market this morning. Ice chests full of them were being hauled out to sell at the market, others destined for nearby restaurants. We ate so fortunate to have such delicious seafood!

Oh, and for anyone who still had doubts, the Capitanñía del Puerto confirmed to me that there will be no cruise ship arrivals this season.

Here's a shot of the fishermen's area last Sunday right after it stopped raining and the sun came out. (Hmmm, two pangas with the same name and registration number, curious and curiouser)

Pangas during yesterday's sunrise seen through a guamúchil tree at the pier.
