In 2018 we didn't see it really hit until the Wednesday before Easter, that would be April 16 this year. That day the country of Mexico descended upon the beaches!

We drove out for the last time ever, leaving here that day. The traffic coming down the mountain was unbelievable! The lines at the toll booths were longer than during the Christmas holidays and the lines of people waiting to use the restrooms often exceeded 50 people! Friday of that week we arrived in Tepic and needed a quick body shop job. The city, and it's a state capital, was deserted! We were told that everyone had gone to the beach. We had to wait until the following Tuesday for our work. Even the grocery stores had nothing in their bakeries and deli's. It was quite amazing.
