I hope Juanito has actually gone to the auditorium and contacted DIF recently to see what is needed, because it was our understanding after we delivered undergarments that they had asked folks to hold off with further donations for the moment since apparently all the needs had been met and they were saturated with donations thanks to the overwhelming response from the local and foreign community. So in the interest of not seeing efforts duplicated or donations essentially wasted, I would urge Juanito to confirm that a need remains and if possible to confirm what is needed. In this matter I trust the local authorities, especially our friend Lizette Tapia, to be able to inform us correctly.

One problem did appear to arise, one I am probably going to be criticized again for even mentioning, but apparently foreigners involved with a school in the colonia affected, the same people who are unfortunately partly responsible for there being a community of squatters there in the first place, have apparently been criticized by neighbors and victims for allegedly not distributing their donations fairly or carefully enough, something having to do with whomever they entrusted their donations to. This came up on a morning radio talk show the other day and was confirmed by several other people, some indignant that essentially lawbreakers were being helped at the expense of law-abiding citizens. I'm just the messenger, but this problem seems to keep repeating itself and I have mentioned this many times over the past decade and a half.

Remember, this was in large part a "community" of squatters, many who apparently have other homes and are not looked upon favorably by the majority of the local community.
