Temporary Resident Card my experience

I don t want to jinx myself but I have not had to wait long with Aduana prior to departure from Zihua. In 2017, I had a few delays but learned to quickly ask security or Alaska Air to phone Aduana. Normally allowing 10 extra minutes has been plenty. The flip side is on entry into Mexico at the airport, you can pass thru the shorter lines used by citizens

on the broader subject a permanent residency card is helpful to obtain a Mexican bank account which allows you to obtain a debit card and in at least one case avoid transaction fees. I learned in 2016 to never mention any residency status if one is driving into Mexico and seeking a 180 day temporary permit. It appears Aduana has long ago figured out that lots of vehicles driven into Mexico by resident card holders never exit Mexico.
