Airport Transportation

We arrived yesterday, intent on taking the colectivo into Centro. The ticket lady said we would have to wait at least a half-hour for the colectivo. We were not in a position to walk outside to see if there was a colectivo available or not. Tired, hot and just wanting to get to our lodgings, we of course paid the 445 pesos and took a taxi.
It made we wonder how many others requesting the colectivo are given the same response.

I always take the collectivo. It is not a thing. It is just a shared taxi. You always have to wait until there is a full taxi load. Often I am the only one and I wait until everyone else has left and then I have a taxi to myself. Since it is by person (152 pesos) it seems to me to really only be a deal if you are a single.

And welcome back to town.

Gracias. Being Canadian, and of Scots-Irish descent to boot, saving 141 pesos would have been worth it, except for that 30+ minute delay. So, you're suggesting that warning of a 30+ minute delay is simply reality, rather than a ploy to discourage people from using the collectivo. I'm so cheap, I would have waited, but Mrs. HolyMole wouldn't have it.

As an aside, isn't it interesting the different perspectives we can have on the same event. Some are encouraged by the rapid police response to the shooting a block or so away from you last night. I'm a little more concerned that there WERE shots fired at 8:30 in the evening in a location we often walk through, or where we may have been standing at the ScotiaBank ATM.
