Troncones Shark Attack

Just because you say something doesn't make it true. I've seen no evidence of anyone trying to cover up anything besides comments from the hospital by the victim accusing folks at Troncones. He doesn't mention any specifics though I certainly have no reason to doubt him.

What is unknown are the circumstances of the attack. Where was the victim and what was he doing? Was the water clear or murky? Was he thrashing about in the water like a wounded fish before the attack? Even with the somewhat aggressive bull sharks it is rare that they attack a swimmer. Surfers floating on boards at least resemble the silhouette of a seal or sea lion, but swimmers not so much. But sometimes people go in the water with a cut that opens and bleeds thus potentially attracting sharks, and sometimes they splash around like a wounded creature. These are things that need to be known in order to be able to properly warn beachgoers if there is an increased danger.

With all the drones and technology available it behooves Protección Civil to attempt to monitor beaches not only after an attack but also when sea conditions are "favorable" for the presence of certain types of sharks close to shore. The presence of tiburones toro is supposedly increased by the cooler currents along the coast.
