Out With Zih Old

A real shame to see garbage on the beach near the pier this morning. There is NO excuse for throwing garbage on the beach. I don't care what the occasion is. People who throw garbage on the beach are not friends of Zihuatanejo and don't deserve to call this place hogar.

The celebration were a lot of fun. Lupita and I celebrated 30 years of falling in love at first sight for the second time on the pier during the last day of the Torneo in 1989. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with our old friend Joaquín at La Porteña. Laugh all you want, it's a place we consider romantic and in a beautiful location.

This morning early workers were on the scene working hard to demolish the pier. Typical construction site with 5 bosses standing around watching 2 or 3 people work. I remember those days well when I used to be one of those workers in my teens in Florida.

The mar de fondo arrived later than I thought it would, but good thing it waited until after the tournament to arrive. Quite a few boats were damaged at Playa La Caleta in Acapulco when the big waves came crashing in and the boat owners were caught "by surprise" even though there'd been a warning issued.

So it begins!
