Counting our lucky stars in Zihuatanejo that we continue receiving light intermittent rains in the region instead of the deluges and flooding being experienced in other parts of the state and the nation. And the light shows at night with the passing storms are a wonder to behold. They lull me to sleep along with the sounds of the waves breaking less than a hundred meters from our home. The rainy season brings life back to the region. Hillsides are turning green and rivers are again filling and flowing, many after having been bone dry for months. I cherish the moisture and the humidity. I much prefer it over dry air. It makes my skin feel great and it makes it a pleasure to breathe deeply enjoying some of the best oxygen in the world here at sea level along our tropical coast. Did I mention I'm The Luckiest Gringo in Mexico? B-)

Lots of folks have been working hard to keep the beaches clean after the rains wash all the trash down from the hillsides. Kudos to our municipal government for stepping up.

lupita says she needs reading glasses in standard increments between +2.00 to +3.50. She and the recipients express their monumental gratitude to the generous people who keep making these smiles possible. Whenever Lupita matches someone up with the glasses that work for them, she startles them telling them there's a "price" for the glasses, then she tells them the cost is a smile, and she snaps a photo, always with their consent.
