The Rainy ZIHson

Since Día de la Marina Zihuatanejo has enjoyed quite a bit of cloudcover with several light but prolonged showers, mostly at night, making for great sleeping weather. And for those who DO sleep with their windows open and fans blowing instead of with their air conditioners pumping you'll soon realize how well acclimated you've become. The others with their pumped air will continue suffering the humidity.

City water is beginning to flow with more regularity. It's been over 2 weeks since we last ran out of water. Used to be every week. Let's hope this trend continues.

The marvelous bright green color of fresh vegetation growth we call verde tierno is visible everywhere. The hillsides are slowly brightening up with it. Flamboyant trees are sprouting their bright red flowers and the magic of the rainy season is visible everywhere, including minor rockslides on roadways and walkways, so keep alert. I love the smell of our damp tropical earth. You can almost hear the plants going "oooh" and "aaah" as they stretch their roots and branches.

Not sure if this photo works, but it sure looked pretty when we were there during sunset.

The light rains we've had fortunately haven't kept our fishermen from being able to work. The orange cloudy skies in the morning and the evening make for interesting illumination.
