Sweet Scent of Zih

Yesterday afternoon we had a light rain that cooled down the downtown area and brought out a fragrance of damp earth mixed with a warm tropical sea. Lots of folks were out strolling at sunset.

Not much of the old pier remains except the pilings. It'll be interesting to see what the next step is. I imagine they'll try to remove what they can, but due to the lack of info available to the public no one seems to know. Any way around, it won't be long until the giant pile drivers are banging away at new pilings around the clock.

Since it's looking more and more like they just may pull this off and build a new pier by December, I've gone ahead and updated the Cruise Ship Schedule beginning from January of 2020. I could only find 4 scheduled visits for the first part of 2020, but it's a start, and they should get the ball rolling.

Tuna! Yesterday at sunset these monsters were for sale at the mercado de los pescadores, but they didn't last long.

Paseo del Pescador at sunset.
