La Magia del Atardecer en Zih

The last pieces of the old pier were removed a few days ago. The old pier is no more. There still remains a cleanup and preparation process, then I expect we'll see new pilings brought in and start hearing the hammering of a huge pile driver, though I expect that's at least a month away.

Man, we must be sala'o! As we were sweltering the night before last there was a huge storm raining over most of the state heading directly for us. Then it got as far a Petatlán and just petered out. We didn't get a drop, but we did get our city water around 4:30 that morning so I had to hustle topside and fill buckets and our tambo and make sure the tinacos were topped off.

Kudos to the policía who showed up at 3:30 this morning after I called them when a bunch of drunks with one of those super-loud speakers (what a waste or rare earth) decided the place to party was in the Plaza del Artista in front of our home. Alcohol culture!

Fishermen arriving at sunset with their late afternoon catch right after another panga while others get ready to head out for the evening.

Here's Lupita taking a last photo of the last piece of the pier before it was jackhammered to pieces.
