Our friend Tina Morse of Casa Kitty needs our moral support. After retrieving a paralyzed gato here in downtown Zihuatanejo for rehabilitation at her place in Troncones the other day, her vehicle was stolen at gunpoint in broad daylight on a busy street and the thief wouldn't let her remove the caged kitty. Thanks to help from strangers via social media the gato was found abandoned, covered in ants but alive by a good samaritan who cleaned it up and returned it to Tina. Kudos to the people who helped. A damn shame about our lack of public security and the loss of Tina's vehicle. Not exactly a happy ending but it'll have to do.

The ayuntamiento confirmed yesterday that next week the equipment will arrive to remove the remains of the pilings from the old pier. Let's hope all goes smoothly and according to plan.

Though our hillsides are a lovely green, we are still severely lacking rain. Hoping it doesn't all come at once when it comes.

A typical evening scene on our Playa Principal.

A lovely Lluvia de Oro tree on Calle Adelita.
