THANK YOU, PAM! What excellent information!

I keep trying to bring this problem to the attention of local tourism authorities. Year after year. Pretty much for the past couple of decades since I've had this website I've suggested going after the eastern seaboard and especially the northeastern market for numerous reasons including the fact that the demand is there, but the frustrations are excessive.

For example, the last place I lived in Florida is full of people with more money than they'll ever be able to spend but who work hard and long hours at the Kennedy Space Center and the surrounding supporting industries. and many take vacations to ethe Bahamas, the Caribbean and Cancún because of the ease of travel. BUT this year there's trouble in paradise including Florida itself. Flesh-eating bacteria and brain-eating amoebas, red tide, blue-green algae, Sargassum weed, and now entire sections of the Gulf of Mexico are dead zones closed to swimmers. All those Gulf states are red states and they haven't been taking care of the ecology. So this should be a boon for the Pacific Coast of Mexico. But we can't take advantage of it very well if the potential tourists can't get here. Never mind the fact there is zero promotion in the region of our destination.

I know people who CAN make a difference read the comments here, so I hope they pay attention to the very helpful info you provided to see if they can't get some better flights lined up, at least for the high tourist season from late fall to early spring.

Saludos.
