We had such a pleasant experience dining in the A/C at Joaquín's La Porteña that we went back again. Both times there was a large table with a large family celebrating birthdays, but the second time we were invited to some of their delicious cake. So in gratitude Lupita sang "Happy Birthday" in English with her divine voice of an angel, and immediately jaws dropped and eyes twinkled and the spell was cast. She got a big round of applause as we exited.

And of course our fresh fish dinners were superb and the service excellent. We will return soon.

While I wouldn't say Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa are crowded, there is still a good deal of tourism here including a noticeable number of middle-class families arriving in nice vehicles and dining at local restaurants. Because our summer season is a little longer this year, we're hoping this helps locals to get through the slow season from mid-August till December.

Look what finally showed up! The first batch of pilings and a big crane. Things should start moving along nicely now while the weather is good.
