It is almost supernatural how it rains all up and down our coast but somehow always seems to miss Zihuatanejo. Even when the map shows we should be having a deluge, nothing but humidity, a little warm breeze, and maybe a few drops somewhere, but nothing here in downtown Zihuatanejo since the brief little deluge last week. I'm certainly glad everyone else is getting their much needed rains, but here we wait each evening for a nice shower to cool down the heat from the day, but nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Usually when the clouds are forming at the end of the day along the Costa Grande we get some brief refreshing rains. We can see the rains to the south on most days, but they just peter out when they come our way. My rain dancing isn't working. I could be missing a step or two. Or maybe we're just jinxed!

Keep an eye out for sea turtles on the beaches. They've been showing up little by little. I keep seeing their tracks mostly at La Madera, but unfortunately between the street dogs and poachers I don't believe they have much chance to hatch. A shame that nobody seems to be looking out for them there. There should be a rule that if you live or own property on the waterfront you need to care for the wildlife there. But yeah, instead we're having a mass extinction event thanks to humans. Hopefully the species that replaces us will do a better job caring for this lovely planet and appreciate it more than we do.

This poor forlorn and forgotten little pier is sure getting a lot of use lately.

Here comes Tonatiuh! :brilliant:
