Happy 50th Woodstock Gen

I am more than a little surprised that more hasn’t been made of the 50th anniversary of 3 (actually 4) days of drugs, sex and mostly epically historical music that helped unite, inspire and partially represent a generation. While I only “almost went” with my bandmates (The Stoned Balloon - we were awful but we had a real good time jammin and hangin), over the years I’ve met several musicians and groups who played there, including this lovely gentleman who did a short stint at a restaurant show-bar where I worked called Chez Rondolet on Sanibel Island, Florida back in ‘79, if I recall correctly. Really set a good tone with the song that officially opened the festival. Thanks always to the late great Richie Havens.

Cherish the love. Be the hope.
