Zih Manos a la Obra

School is back in session and the summer vacationers have all gone home. Wpw! Hardly a car in the street anywhere, though the police were zipping around this way and that including the Guardia nacional and the Policía Municipal because a woman got her purse snatched half a block away. Good to see them react so quickly and in abundance.

Yes, the slow season means the overpopulation manifests itself. Same crap as always but a little worse each year as folks get laid off from hotel and service jobs and unskilled uneducated unprincipled people resort to stealing. All kinds of thefts go up. So stay alert, walk in pairs or groups if you can, lock up well (your house must be a fortress here, welcome to the world) and leave the gaudy baubles at home. Unfortunately in today's world if you look like easy prey you tend to become one.

Personally I love seeing Zihuatanejo get back into its own rhythm, seeing local folks socializing with their neighbors and friends. During the busier times of the year we often don't have a lot of time to live our own lives, visit with friends and do the things we like to do. Well, we've got from now until the end of November to enjoy our paradise, with time out on weekends for the day trippers.

Looks like the boys are playing with their big toys this morning.

This was a nice little treat during sunset a few days ago as I was up checking the water levels in our tinacos.
