Another tropical deluge caused flooding in parts of town last night, though we fared okay in our little corner. Paseo de La Boquita was a mess and some vehicles had to be pushed off the flooded street. It wasn't as big a storm as the previous night, but a lot of rain fell nonetheless, and the nearby cracks of thunder had us jumping and me cursing in echo. KeeRAAKK DAMN!

I was extremely encouraged and happy to see the Guardia Nacional patrolling downtown on foot last night during the wee hours after midnight! ¡Gracias! It seemed to make all the difference. While feint music could still be heard, there were no howling banshees nearby and I believe it was one of the most pleasant Friday nights for sleeping that I can recall for quite some time. Tonight comes the real test.

Fish prices are currently high for us, so most folks aren't consuming as much as we'd like, and of course when sales are down locals raise their prices to make up for the loss because they've never heard of Adam Smith or the Law of Supply & Demand.

Looks like a postcard to me. You can see where the rain from the night before washed onto the beach from the Paseo del Pescador by the zócalo.
