Accessibility issues in Ixtapa

While I agree with most of the information posted I just wanted to add this. We support a wheelchair bound senior who has lived in the downtown area of Zihuatanejo for the past 5 years. He has only one leg and lives alone but negotiates his wheelchair everyday all around the town to buy his food etc. He goes up and down curbs where necessary and is very resourceful about getting around. You could come into Zihua for a morning and have a look around. You could take him along the walkway that runs in front of Playa Principal where the fishermen come in and you can sit in the restaurants that are also along there. Zihua is a much more interesting place than Ixtapa and has a flare that Ixtapa just doesn't have.
Paty's, along La Ropa beach is also a nice place to go and have lunch right beside the water. The taxi can drop you off right out front. We have taken our friend here for lunch.
