Butterfly Tour from Morelia Mid-December

We stayed at a B&B in Morelia and they had a taxi cab/tour guide that worked with them. He drove us to the Reserve and waited for us at the entrance. When we went in, had the choice of either taking the long trail to the plateau just below the forest with the butterflies or riding the horse's to the plateau. We took the horses up and our guide met us there. The problem was Kathie had never ridden a horse before and they did not adjust her stirrups and the ride was a bad experience for her because of the bruises bouncing in the saddle. I thank most hotels and B&B's have taxis that work with them. If the sun is not out, the butterflies won't be flying around. As we were going up the trail, met very disappointed people. They got there to early and the sun had not come out enough to warm the area. Time we got to them, they were starting to fly around. You will see like brown ponds hanging from the trees- that's your butter flies all clustered up.
