Safety

I understand saving the beauty of traveling in Mexico, but please quit burying your head in the sand. The cartels are dangerous and I don't know who is in charge of safety. The police and military don't seem to get a handle on these problems, just hope you don't get caught in the crossfire. RIP to the mothers and very young kids slaughtered on the highways in Mexico

What happened to those women and children is absolutely awful and I truly feel for their families. But we all know that mass murder is not unique to Mexico; there's certainly been plenty of it here in the US, and at a greater scale. We really enjoy our time in Mexico as well as the folks we've met there. We will continue to visit, while taking the normal precautions. There's no head burying involved.
