I understand saving the beauty of traveling in Mexico, but please quit burying your head in the sand. The cartels are dangerous and I don't know who is in charge of safety. The police and military don't seem to get a handle on these problems, just hope you don't get caught in the crossfire. RIP to the mothers and very young kids slaughtered on the highways in Mexico

No one in Mexico has their head in the sand and I fail to see your justification for making such a claim. We are all grieving in Mexico for the LeBarón family members. We also grieved for the Mexicanos massacred earlier this year in El Paso.

We of course also know why there are cartels and where their money and firearms come from.

So because bad things happen and governments govern poorly we should just lock ourselves in a safe room somewhere? Ignore beauty? Ignore places like Zihuatanejo? Has something changed here?
