Hola fellow Zihua and whale lovers! Thank you for allowing me to share with you an exciting email I received from the awesome Whales of Guerrero Research Project (https://www.whalesinmexico.com/) ...

“Hello from the heart of Whale Season in Barra de Potosí!

Great news, friends - we sold every last ticket to our gorgeous dinner party and world premiere of Grammy-winner Gabriela Quintero's Song for the Whales. We're dusting off our fancy clothes and looking forward to (tonight) with such happy anticipation.

And now I get to give you a big beautiful surprise:

We're having our first annual Fiesta para las Ballenas on the beach in Barra de Potosí this Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 4 PM sharp! Our beloved Gabriela (of Rodrigo y Gabriela) will be offering a free concert with special musical guests!

Remember the Whale Wheel of Fortune from our Portland party last fall? We've reinvented it, Mexico style, and it's even MORE FUN now!

We've created a nature-themed loteria (Mexican bingo) and pulled together the most fun carnival games and gathered a fantastic pile of prizes to win.

What prizes, you say? We're talking scuba dives, boat trips, hotel stays, meals at many of our favorite restaurants in Barra de Potosi, Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa, massages, high quality mezcal, artesanias, spa treatments, cooking classes - really amazing stuff.

The women from Barra de Potosi are cooking up a storm for you - vegan, vegetarian and meaty things too. And there will be delightful artesanias to peruse and possibly claim as your own.

Bring cash! (We can also accept credit cards on site.)

More than anything, this is a day to come together - the WHOLE extended community - to celebrate our love of nature, whales and each other!

Do bring a beach blanket or towel for the concert and also a dish, fork and drinking glass for the food and drinks; this is an eco-friendly event.

Be sure to arrive at 4 PM sharp so you don't miss out on the fun! (We're wrapping up right after sunset.)

Thanks so much for your support. It's a complete joy to celebrate and create this event together with such a dedicated and inspired community.”

HOLY COW! SEE YOU THERE!! :vacation: :woohoo:
