Sad morning

Paul and I don't agree on much of anything but I don't have a problem with this post. I don't think criticism is warranted here and it feels like piling on. But one thing jumped out at me:

There is so much false news you don't know who to believe.

And that, in a nutshell explains so much about what's gone wrong. Creating "alternative facts", as Kellyanne Conway once said, has been the right-wing strategy for many years. Steve Bannon admitted that not long ago when he said "liberals aren't the enemy but the media is. And the way to combat the media is throw so much BS in the air that people get confused". And that leaves tens of millions of Fox viewers and Alex Jones fans easy marks - chumps - for propaganda that pushes their emotional hot-buttons and gets them to vote against their own interests.

There is so much false news you don't know who to believe.

It's no coincidence that Fox viewers are the most uninformed demographic. The truth is out there but you have to go looking for it - to expend some time and effort to find reliable sources of information. Democracy can't survive with an uninformed and confused electorate.
