Exchange rate

by mosesk @, Ojai, CA, USA, Thursday, March 19, 2020, 21:07 (19 days ago) @ Casa Juan

if everything that you ate and consumed was produced in USA and you only spent inflated $USD you, then would just be treading water. The local produced goods, foods etc. will all go up in price as is often noticed now at menus of local restaurants. Now oil is very cheap but when the market adjusts, the taxi drivers will be back for another hike, as will the water deliverers, etc. , and so it goes, the current irrational exchange rate(USD vs. MXN) will eventually pass but the prices will not come down again on your favorite local street food.

A great imbalance on the exchange rate is not good news to all of us:-(

I’m sorry but I still don’t understand.
But my food and life habits are different than the great majority of people.
But forget about me.
How does this current exchange rate affect the “average” Mexican?
And if there is a change in the price of the consumables they use, the services they use and need, utilities, etc....Why?
