N95 masks

Are they available in Zihuatanejo

I haven't asked at the farmacia or medical supply store, but I've seen them offered for sale on local social media. I haven't heard any comments from our local health workers about whether they have them or not. At the clinic I visited yesterday when the health emergency was declared all the health workers were wearing facemasks, some different than others, I guess owing to their particular jobs. The guard watching the door didn't have the same kind as the doctors and some nurses, for example.

According to what I understand, if you are not ill or a health worker you do not need a facemask. They are for people who are ill or who need to work with people who are. All a facemask does for someone who isn't ill or who isn't a health worker is make you touch your face more than you would otherwise need to as you constantly readjust and fiddle with it. Health officials ask us to please leave them for the folks for whom they're actually designed to help.

Rob- the general belief about masks is changing.
Yes-,we still need to make sure N95s and surgical masks protect front line workers first
But should the time come that there are enough the general public is likely to be advised to wear them as well
In the meantime any face covering is considered protective
There is still a debate about this but I’ve been following the situation from various media pronouncements and this is what I’m picking up
