Fortunately we still have zero cases of Covid-19 reported in Zihuatanejo. Unfortunately there are still too many people not respecting the order to STAY AT HOME. Not sure what is wrong with them. It wouldn't bother me so much if just those people became ill, but as virus carriers they can infect dozens if not hundreds of other people. #QuédateEnCasa

Various municipal governments including La Unión and Zihuatanejo are implementing food distribution programs for the needy. This Sunday we expect to hear our federal government's economic assistance plan. The Banco de México has already organized a series of low- and zero-interest credits and loans for businesses large and small via numerous banks that operate in Mexico. There is even assistance for informal businesses. I believe most folks are hoping for a suspension or condonación of their electric bill. Not holding my breath on that one, but we may be returning to using kerosene lamps here real soon if not.

Again last night the same few offensive bars that are known for being offensive and disrespectful of their neighbors continued to operate while the patrolling Guardia Nacional did nothing to inhibit them.

A photo shoot takes place on the Paseo del Pescador while a young man fishes for his daily sustenance.

Fishing boats head out for a night of work.
