Yes a Rob posted. Not sure which union my wife is with in San Juan del Rio, Queretaro but the teachers and principals have still received their pay as usual. Luckily, the union she does belong to is not one that goes out and does major protests for all the different things. She was happy with La Reforma as it gave the ability to hire the teachers she wanted/needed and not just keep the "buy the job" ones, who wouldn't show up to work or have the necessary degree to teach the children but still get the paycheck. Luckily, she is the principal of a kindergarten and all her teachers are Master Level graduated teachers that she personally taught over the past 8 years. Not a lot of money in the profession but she loves it, the kids and the hours of work.

I can't tell how much we padres de familia (and now abuelitos) appreciate the hard-working professionals like your wife who do what they do out of dedication and love for the profession. We have a couple or three lost generations thanks to the growth of the CNTE and the SNTE (the latter not near as bad as the former for missing classes). It's probably much worse here in Guerrero than in Querétaro where your wife works, pero no me consta. When our daughter was in public school decades ago it seemed like every week or so the teachers had an excuse for missing classes, and of course it's always the students and the taxpayers who pay the cost. Much respect to your wife!
