Unfortunately part of Playa La Ropa received its certification today meaning no more pets on the beach. It was bad enough that people witnessed city workers kicking and abusing a pack of street dogs that was roaming the beach the other day. Violating state laws in the process. But now a line has been crossed that I will never be in agreement with. Unaccompanied street dogs are one thing to ban. Pets are part of the family. And this rule is like a big flashing sign telling families with pets to look for another vacation destination. A terrible message at absolutely the worst time in the life of Zihuatanejo's tourism. It is not a popular idea with most residents and business owners. We had a meeting several years back, and only 2 or 3 people were for banning pets from the beach. Nothing has changed since then except the city government. Oh yeah, and the pandemia closing our tourism business entirely. We should be WELCOMING tourists, not chasing them away.

Got another lovely little rain last evening. Little green shoots and leaves are appearing everywhere. The hillsides are changing color. Like the puppy dog said when it got its tail caught in the door, it won't be long now. ;-)

Still working though not everyone everyday.
